Scottish Parliamentary Copyright

Under The Parliamentary Copyright (Scottish Parliament) Order 1999, first copyright in works made by or under the direction or control of the Scottish Parliament is owned by the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body (SPCB). Under this Order, the provisions relating to Scottish Parliamentary copyright protected material are in line with Parliamentary copyright material produced by the Westminster Parliament as set out in section 165 of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988.

The following categories of material qualify for Scottish Parliamentary copyright protection:

The administration of Scottish Parliamentary copyright material is undertaken by the Queens Printer of Scotland under the terms of an agreement with the SPCB. Day-to-day administration of Scottish Parliamentary copyright is dealt with by the Licensing division of the Office of the Queen’s Printer for Scotland which reports to the Queen’s Printer.
